Our Story
Hindusthan Cooperative Credit Society Ltd., a popular name in the field of the Cooperative sector operating in the Maharashtra area since 1987. HCCS is a registered cooperative Credit Society under registration No. B.O.M.W.N./R.S.R./C.R.1041 YEAR 1987 in the year 1987. HCCS was founded in the year 1987 with the aim to provide much-needed financial support to vulnerable members of society in the slums of the Jari Mari area on Andheri Kurla Road, Mumbai. HCCS started functioning in the area where banking facilities were non-existent by any bank. HCCS began its financial inclusion activities in the period when the concept of Microfinance was yet to gain a name in the world of the financial sector. Many financial institutions at that time were averse to providing financial services to the urban poor in the slums of Mumbai.
Initially, HCCS commenced its operations with 527 members. Which is built up to 13222 lakhs with 46000+ members. At the time of registration, the Authorised Share Capital was Rs.5.00 Lakhs which has been enhanced to Rs.1000.00 lakhs as on 31st March 2023. The person behind the overall growth and flourishing of the society’s business to today’s phenomenal growth is its founder Chairman Mr. Anil Laxmanrao Jadhav.
ANIL JADHAV, THE FOUNDER, THE LEADER, AND THE MENTOR OF THE SOCIETY :
Mr. Anil Jadhav has been associated with the HCCS from 1988 onwards in different role-playing positions. Prior to joining the society Mr. Anil Jadhav, it was a defunct organization with a low level of business. In 1992, Mr. Jadhav became the Chairman of the society and brought a sea change in the society’s developmental activities as he remained determined and committed to taking it to the growth path. Mr. Anil Jadhav’s inspiration is Mr. Mohammed Yunus from Bangladesh, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for founding the Grameen Bank and pioneering the concepts of microcredit and microfinance which brought revolutionary change in the lives of millions of poor people in the world. Mr. Jadhav has always been the philosopher, mentor, and source of inspiration for HCCS. With his devotion and determination, he took the society to greater heights during his tenure.
He is a very renowned corporate member with vast experience in the Financial sector. He is a Board member in Hindusthan IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd., CoPass Technology & Services Pvt. Ltd. The Sarvodaya Co-op. Bank Ltd., and Secretary in Mumbai Vibhagiya Sahakari Patsanstha Federation Ltd. Mumbai.
Shri Anil Jadhav has been felicitated with the following awards for his excellent achievements.
- 2011: “Maharashtra Gaurav Puraskar” from IITF at the hands of renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Lahane.
- 2010: “Maharashtra Journalist Foundation’s Bhushan Puraskar” at the hands of the Mayor of Navi Mumbai Mrs. Manisha Bhoir.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Apart from day-to-day routine business activities, Society has also undertaken following Social welfare measures from time to time for the benefit of the people.
- Distribution of Blankets to the flood-affected people of 26th July 2005 in Mumbai.
- Distribution of notebooks to 4000 flood-affected students of 26th July 2005 from 26 schools in Mumbai.
- The organization of Medical Checkup Camp at Chembur, Jarimari, Pusesavali in 2017.
- Distribution of Sarees to economically weaker SHG/JLG women members in Borivali in 2018.
- Sanction of Interest-free Cattle loans to widow women in Satara district in 2019.
- Environment Day celebration on the date 03 June 2022.
- Women's Day celebration at Borivali branch on the date 08 March 2022.
- Independence Day celebration at Jogeshwari branch 15 August 2022
